Visit of Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal to People's Republic of China - Day 1

Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr Shisir Khanal arrived in Beijing this morning on an official visit to the People's Republic of China at the cordial invitation of H. E. Mr Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.
He was extended a warm welcome at the Beijing Capital International Airport by Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, Mrs Roshan Khanal and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
In the afternoon, the Hon. Foreign Minister attended the welcome reception, hosted in his honour by the Embassy of Nepal, and also interacted with the Nepali community. Addressing the event, he highlighted the current Government’s priority to institutionalise good governance, economic development and prosperity. He also invited the Nepali community to actively participate in the nation-building campaign in Nepal.
Earlier, he planted a sapling at the Embassy premises. He also received briefings from the Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. and other officials on the functioning and priorities of the Embassy. Hon. Minister instructed the Embassy to promote the interests of Nepal in China and provide efficient services to Nepalis.
